Camber Cymbals?

Anyone have any information on this old line of cymbals? Are they still made? I've seen a little on Google, but nothing that really shows that they are still made.

Back when I first started playing, they were pretty popular as a beginner line, but also had some "pro" line cymbals. They had a nice sound, but didn't last long (probably due to my horrid technique when I was 13 years old)

I was able to replace them all with Zildjians as I got older, and started making my own money....But I always thought they (the Cambers) were decent cymbals....well for the price...

Just a little nostalgia....

I have never heard a good sounding Camber cymbal. I have only ever heard the beginner lines, and they were crap sounding even for beginner cymbals.

Re: Camber Cymbals?

I wish I saved the catalogs, but they had a pretty decent pro line, one series of the cymbals were silver in color, and had a shimmery finish on them, they actually didn't sound too bad, kind of like Paistes 600 series. (My brother in law has a set with the "Ludwig" logo on them, and their sound and make up reminds me of that cymbal)

The line I had may have been a mid level set, because the ride wasn't horrible, not as bad as some cymbals I've heard, The crash was a little like a Zilco that another friend of mine had. Explosive when you hit it, but not really a long decay, you heard the crash, and it was gone. The hi-hats to me were the best of the bunch, and lasted the longest.

When I started breaking them, I replaced them with Zildjians, and never turned back....
