Paiste signature cracked!!

Hi y'all.

I recently purchased a signature series "18 power crash from an awesome store on eBay called musicattic62 and within months of owning it, has developed cracks in the bow.

The store has agreed to replace it but I'm wondering if I should be going with a different series.

After doing some research I find that signatures are made from some custom alloy and that many drummers (even paiste fans) believe they are not durable.

If anyone has any experiences to back up this theory it would be greatly appreciated. It's also worth noting that my previous 802 "18 lasted me 6 years and I also am not keen on switching to other brands. Paiste are the guys for me but I'm wondering if I should be turning to 2002's.

Re: Paiste signature cracked!!

Gotta say the 2002 18in crash sounded really nice (I'm a sabian guy). From what I read on the cymbal it's made of a b8 alloy which would be the same as a B8 pro cymbal from sabian. The price tag is also nice compared to the signature series ( $115.32 difference in USD). If it was me I would go for the 2002's. Sound great and a little bit more affordable. It's all personal preference, so it's all on you. Sorry I couldn't help more about the crack in your cymbal. All in all if they're gonna replace it for free I'd say give it another try and then after that go for the 2002 series. I really couldn't find much on your 802 series crash.
