Universal cymbal cleaner

I like to mix up my brands every now and then, so to keep me from buying four different brands or $$$$ I decided to start a thread.

P.S. A Meinl endorser I helped out had paiste after Polish in his hard case, who they are that is a secret, as far as I know.

Re: Universal cymbal cleaner

well you might think you can get away with using some CLR but DON'T DO IT! hehe

it says dont use on copper or brass and well, they mean it.

i tried it on this top high hat last night, it was black, now it's a sortof pink. kindof far out.

the bottom hat, for whatever reason, stayed perfect through all the years of storage, but the top one, which was only milimeters from it for the same amount of time was black as night.

the CLR got all the black off, and fast, but it destroys the copperygoldy luster the cymbal once had (like the one on left).

i'm sure some other cleaners would've gotten the grime off but w/ALOT more elbow grease and time. i dont care i just wanted the dirt off and i hate this high hat anyways it's soooo heavy. on a side note, check out how my bass drum cleaned up! w00tw00t only 3 more drums to go! CLR worked great on all the chrome hardware, ofcourse it's very powerful so you have to use it fast and rinse it thoroughly.
