Re: cracked cymbal This is what we do in the aircraft industry... when an aircraft skin has a crack we stop the crack by "stop drilling" the crack... the drilling of a hole 1/16" to 1/8" in diameter at the end of the crack will stop the crack from getting longer... What I do is: right in line with the crack find the visual end of the crack... ADD 1/8" inch, in other words, drill the hole directly in line with the crack but 1/8" inch from the end, like so ------- 0 If you do not stop drill the hole, it will get longer.... After drilling, break the sharp edges of the hole on both sides of the cymbal.... Works like a charm... Will not affect sound of the cymbal.... Let me add that epoxy will not work... Welding will DESTROY the sound, I guarantee... If you beat the crap out of any cymbal, it may crack... As an older drummer, I only have 44 years of drumming experience...
