myner,

welcome to the forum. Paiste cymbals are good cymbals. If it were me I would save up and get higher end Paiste cymbals if that is the specific brand you want.

I sold my kit and cymbals (Sabian AAX and AA) because we were moving and wouldn't have room. Then I got a set of Sabian XS20's for my current kit, I have slowly been upgrading. and will up grade my xs20 hi hats soon.

It just takes time and patience. Also check your local drum shops they might take trades on cymbals.

Hi thanks for welcoming me.
I'm looking at paiste Pst 5's. Are Sabian's Xs20 worth its money?
Because I live in singapore and prices for a 18" Pst 5 Rock Crash costs abit cheaper than a 18" Xs20 medium-thin crash.

Im here to tell you that you might get a better deal on most music stuff than we will here in the US.
a lot of times countrys wont charge an import tax on musical insterments due to their eductional purposes.

I dont know a whole lot about either of those brands but I know that the zildjian xbt and zbt are a good place to start for beginer set ups and they usealy come in a good package deal.

in singapore, zildjian's Zbt's sets are like $400.
I was at www.musiciansfriends.com
the prices are so much lower. even after the exchange rate.

that sucks dude I really thought they may be lower but want sure.

I would try looking into some that will ship overseas but even that can get a little pricey.

To russ. Musicians friends only ships around US.
And singapore doesn't have their own brand.
The only way for budget drummers, is to buy paistes.
I just got myself a paiste 201 16" crash. sounds good.

To Full metal. Yeah, that sucks. the shipping costs really make the prices go much higher. Plus the Exchange rate.

I have played Paiste's, Zildjian's, and Sabian's, and as for as your "bang for the buck", I recommend the Sabian B8 Pro or Pro Pack. These are not the top of the line cymbals, but for the price range you mentioned, they are good. I like the Sabian AAX's as they are good for loud and quiet situations.
Good Luck!

I bought a pack of Meinl MCS cymbals for my practice kit at home. 14" hats, 16"crash,20" ride. I think they sound pretty good. Also came with a 15" china (which I dont use)....paid 149 at musicians friend, but I think the price went up. Still cheaper and better than low end Zildian or Sabian.
