Looking for new cymbals on a budget, any suggestions?

My Zildjians, after 2 years of intense playing, and lengthy drum solos, are starting to give out. I'm looking for some sort of cymbal package, good quality for around 125-250 bucks. Cheaper if possible, does anyone know where I can perhaps get some cheap used stuff?

What sort of package? You mean hats/ride/crash or hats/ride/2 crashes/china....

There's a few threads around about budget gear... I'll see if I can get some links for you....

it's kinda expsensive but musicans freind has a zildjian a custom pack that has a ride hi hat and crash and I would say that they will hold up but if you really want to get some hevy duty ones then I would sugest the Z customs
but they dont have real good pack deals on them other than the one that has a 8" splash, 16" crash and a 18" crash

just a sugestion

I got that deal an also got the z custom HI hats and they sound great and stand up to some abuse.

I heard Istanbul has some good cymbals, and the Wuhan china sounds great, which is the one I have. I might try some S series crashs, if they have them at Guitar Trader, to see if they sound good. I know it's beginner but the Paiste bronze 202 pack actually sounds pretty nice, and it's very durable from what I've heard.

Whatever you buy, make sure you try every cymbal before you buy it. Just because they have the same markings doesn't mean they'll sound the same.

Also be aware cymbals will sound vastly different depending on what room you're playing them in. When you find that good crash in the shop, stick it on the end of your finger and walk around the room hitting it. In the corner of the room, an open space, near one wall, all of this will let you know what to expect from your cymbal.

You'd look pretty funny running around the music shop hitting a cymbal like an idiot But in the end, I guess it's worth it. Haha

Maybe, but at least I won't look like a novice.

I agree, I will not buy cymbals online. I go and try them at my local drum shop.

Are paiste cymbals good?
I'm on a really strict budget and i only have enough to get low end paiste's.
I only have their 101, and 302 series.
I'm looking to go into more bronze. Maybe their 201 or Pst 5 series.
I'm not sure which is better.
Any of you guys tried them out before? I'm only using them for a small room for band prac.
