My favourite crash would have to be my 19" K Custom Thin Crash- I've had it for almost 5 months now, and everytime I hit it I get this feeling like " Wow, that sure felt great to hit". I can't explain it, but you've all probably had this feeling.

Oh yes, I know that one. That's why the Istanbul 18" Trad Dark isn't leaving my kit as long as it's in one piece, I get that feeling every single time I touch it.

- I wish.

I love my ancient 20" K ride and I've been looking around for a Dark Crash that would blend well. A K Dark Crash like yours * Jealous * would probably be just the ticket. Does anybody know of another similar Dark crash that is less expensive?

http://www.cymbalsonly.com - some nice dark crashes there (unfortunately no more Agops!) - Mehmet or Bosphorus are pretty affordable, I reckon. Check it out.

I think that, that feeling can be gotten if you play with any kids of cymbals. Its more of how that cymbal stands out from your kit. A new cymbal always stands out.

Re: Your Favorite Crash

i have 2 paiste signature mellow crash cymbals: 16" and 17". never heard a better crash cymbals than those: fast, clear and explosive. the first time i heard them i got so excited, so i bought them immidiatly.

still looking for the right ride though.... i started with paiste 201 20" (which have a very good bell sound but poor body sound), and now i own a paiste 2002 20" ride...

Talking Re: Your Favorite Crash

Hi all,

For me the Paiste 16" 2002 full crash is the one, the weight is thin/medium and the sound is divine , with a great range from sizzly whisper to loud angry and everything in between.
The cymbal has the most intricate lathing I have ever seen on a cymbal, alsmost like fine froth, and I am sure that is what makes this cymbal so great.

Cheers and happy drumming,

Harry

I have an 18" thin Zildjian from the 70s and a 17" Zildjian hybrid that not only sound great by themselves but blend well together.
