Notice that i did not say that you were a sucky drummer because i have not heard you play and i will not critique you until i have first done that! Hey! thats an idea, how about you post a vid of you playing and let the whole forum decide if you are the drummer that you say you are, which will be hardly believable since you display 0%professionalism here on the forum? |

To be taught by Larry london (wow) is certainly not something to scoff at. We need experienced drummers on this site, it helps the inexperienced to learn more skills and sort problems, that is what it is all about. There is no competition at all between the two or anyone. Never put your skills against another drummer, it is unprofessional. We are all human, some better at some things than others, but the others better at some things than our selves. Let's leave it at that (and i'm not even a moderator).
Good point Givemethebeat regarding mounting quality cymbals on quality stands. I use heavy duty stands so no fear of them toppling over . The mounting of any cymbal is critical although a very basic thing to do, but some seem to fail here and destroy their cymbals.
Too tight a retainer is bad. So is any metal contact with the cymbal surface.
Use plastic seperation tubes and or felt washers, they are cheap and remember to check them regularly for wear and replace if needed.
I use the rubber type washers instead of felt and they help the cymbal to speak nicer, let the full cymbal tones come out. http://www.wedgie.com/cgi-bin/ccp5/c...&pg=ste_splash
