I was taught by the late session ace Larrie Londin and have been instructed by percussionist Richie Gajate Garcia,i have won regional drum competitions here in my state, if i ever get the time,i will post a vid of me playing just to prove my point, and last i started playing when i was 8 and i am 40 now,so that gives you an idea of how long i have been doing this.
How long have you been playing?
true shakespeer

Wow you have been playing for 40 years, me for only 4+6years subtract 2 +100-50+25+25-100=? ... see i beet you.

I am calling you an immature little self righteous conceited little brat who thinks that he is "The only drummer" who is good and every one else sucks, now, how can you say that you are "a better drummer" without first hearing my playing? Notice that i did not say that you were a sucky drummer because i have not heard you play and i will not critique you until i have first done that! Hey! thats an idea, how about you post a vid of you playing and let the whole forum decide if you are the drummer that you say you are, which will be hardly believable since you display 0%professionalism here on the forum?

Guss,I am through with you,you chose to be ugly to me,now i don't care if you are a good drummer or not,a good man or not, your reputation is well known and i choose not to lower myself to your standards, from now on, if you do not have anything nice to say to me then do not say anything at all!
End of Discussion,Period. I have nothing further to say to you. Good day!

Agree, there no need to stoop to the level of some other forums where belittleing and unhelpful remarks start to creep in, you will lose valuable members. This is a great site keep it that way , be respectful to all.

To be taught by Larry london (wow) is certainly not something to scoff at. We need experienced drummers on this site, it helps the inexperienced to learn more skills and sort problems, that is what it is all about.
There is no competition at all between the two or anyone. Never put your skills against another drummer, it is unprofessional. We are all human, some better at some things than others, but the others better at some things than our selves. Let's leave it at that (and i'm not even a moderator).

Good point Givemethebeat regarding mounting quality cymbals on quality stands. I use heavy duty stands so no fear of them toppling over .

The mounting of any cymbal is critical although a very basic thing to do, but some seem to fail here and destroy their cymbals.

Too tight a retainer is bad. So is any metal contact with the cymbal surface.

Use plastic seperation tubes and or felt washers, they are cheap and remember to check them regularly for wear and replace if needed.

I use the rubber type washers instead of felt and they help the cymbal to speak nicer, let the full cymbal tones come out.
