I have the ZXT rock cymbal pack and I think they are really good sounding cymbals. The ZBTs are really crappy though. Im gonna upgrade to a more versatile set up eventually (when i get money). But yeah ZXTs are good. If i could have done it over I would haved skipped the ZXTs and saved for some A''s though.

Re: ZXT and ZBT Cymbals

any cymbals that come with a kit typically are crap and prove that drum companies should stick to making drums/hardware and leave the cymbal making to zildjian, sabian, paiste or meinl.

with that said...
yes, ultimately it is recommended to get higher end cymbals, but let's face facts here. not everyone makes that sort of money nor do we all have endorsement deals with our companies of choice. so, in your case, i would suggest getting a set of Paiste PST5's. they're a little bit more than the PST3's...but they sound awesome. if you want an idea of what they sound like...(. he rocks the crap out of this song btw). i think ONE of his crashes is a 502...everything else is PST5. so, for the money...you can't go wrong with those. when you start pulling in some money tho, i would definitely upgrade to either the signature series (paiste), HHX (Sabian) or A Customs (Z Customs aren't made anymore...if you can find a Z Custom tho...snag it!).
