Zildjian K Constantinople or Bosphorus?

Hey yos,

First post on this beast, glad I could find a drumming forum. Nice to know drummers DO communicate haha.

I got a bunch of birthday money and I was having some trouble deciding what to do with it--do I lower my car or get a cymbal? Well...I'm feeling a little more like getting another cymbal now because it costs a little less and...well I don't know, I mean come on, I'm a drummer. I don't need to explain myself.

Fact is I looked on eBay (sometimes the best place, sometimes the worst place) because I don't want to spend a ton on a brand new cymbal. Now a fellow drummer at my University once had a Bosphorus New Orleans ride, and...man, that thing was pretty impressive. Though I do have to say it was never as impressive and sweet as the Zildjian K Constantinople Light Ride another acquaintance had. I definitely fell in love with that thing.

The question is just that: which cymbal do you think I should go with/which cymbal would you rather go with and why? I like that sweet, almost crashy sound in a ride--to give you an idea of the sound I'm looking for, listen to "Natural Anthem" by Radiohead--the sound of the ride at the end is just about it exactly.

Thanks y'all.

My advice would be to go to your local store and play all the cymbals until you find one you like.

Never buy cymbals from Ebay. All cymbals sound different regardless of what the writings on them would tell you.
