Talking New cymbals; Have to brag

Ok, I just have to brag about my new Sabians. First up is the 16" AA Medium crash. Remarkably loud and explosive for a 16. Just a good all around crash. I can now throw my B8Pro off my balcony like a frisbee. Next is my 14" AAX Metal hi-hats. They sound wonderfull. Replaces my Paiste 2002 SoundEdge Hats. And lastly Is the 19" Metal-X crash. Other crashes pray to this symbol, and some rides do too. In, fact, this is really a crash/ride-light ride. The bell is HUGE and makes great tones by it's self. It's not good for anything but rock/metal. you really have to mash it to get it going. Thick as hell too, I doubt I'll break it anytime soon. I also have an AA raw bell dry ride, and a 12" Hand hammered mini china, but I have owned those for a while. Future plans would include: 18" AA china, 17" Metal-X, and a couple of AAX splashes. I can't wait to jam saturday. I plan to make everyone deaf with that 19".

So I (Finally) got to jam with a couple of my bros saturday, and everyone loved that metal X. Turns out that it makes an excellent light ride for some of the quieter stuff. It also made everyone wince nearly every time I hit it. I'd hit that, my mini china and my kick at the same time and the concussive sound explosion was quite amazing and beautiful. I HIGHLY recomend the Metal X series.

Cool man! Looks like you invested in some nice cymbals. How much did it all cost you?

Also, you rave about that Metal X cymbal but how does it mesh with your other cymbals?

Ok, total cost: The AAX Hats were 260, the 19" Metal x crash was 180, AA medium 16" crash-100 (used) HH 12" mini china-60 (used) and my AA Raw bell-dry ride was 220. I also picked up a sweet deal on a new 18" AAXPlosion crash: 100 bux! couldn't pass that one up. Thats $920. Add washington state sales tax and it's more like 990 or something like that. Well worth it as far as i"m concerned. As for the Metal X crash blending in; I feel that it meshes well with everything else. I have had the opportunity to demo Metal X crashes (A 17" and a 19") with AA, AAX, and HHX crashes, and they blend in well with the brighter AA and AAX crashes. Not so well with the HHX line. If you are into a more jazzy type of feel, the Metal X line is PROBABLY not for you. If you are into anything loud AND you like bright, explosive cymbals, do yourself a favor and check em out.

Wow that's a pretty steep price if you ask me but I'm glad you like them. At least now you won't have to spend any more money on cymbals for a very long time. Unless you have an expensive cymbal buying addiction that is. Haha

Was recently eying up a Sabian Evolution 10" splash, but searching i found a Meinl Byzance and i couldn't leave the shop without.
It has a bright glassy effect, just something different that i was after.

DANG ! New Mapex DRUMS and now NEW CYMBALS--L-U-C-K-I-I-E-E.
Cool selection of brass man. Sounds like they will go very well with your new wood pile.

Oh--Can a couple of my cymbals come over and pray to yours next Sunday???
