Help me pick a ride

I have 2 ride cymbals, a ZXT rock ride & a ZXT medium titanium ride. I bought the rock ride off ebay for a cheap price because i didn't have a ride cymbal & needed something to fill that void. I never heard the way that cymbal sounded & it turned out that i liked it. As for the titanium ride I heard one in the store before & really liked the sound of it, but they wanted more than i could afford for it. Again I found one on ebay for a good price & got it thinking I'd like the sound of it better than the rock ride. The titanium ride came in yesterday. So here's my delima, I'm going to sell one of them, but now that i have both cymbals & can hear them side by side I can't decide which one i like better. The rock ride has a lower darker tone with nice undertones, the titanium one is brighter with a nicely defined ping to it. Which cymbal would you guys/gals choose?

It depends on preference, if you play more jazzy stuff stick with the titanium cymbal, if play heavier stuff keep the regular one. I would probably keep the regular one for two reasons: 1, is because the titanium would probably not be as versatile, and 2, because the titanium is limited edition you might be able to get more for it.

sell them both and get a pro ride. A or K series is a starter. I prefer Paiste Signature series because they are the most versatile cymbal. Play hard /soft/anything they always blend and always sound awesome...

If you like them, keep them both as there is no outlay. I would choose the one that suits the music style you play best on your gigging kit, and use the other one on your practice kit (if you have one).
givemethebeat is correct as pro cymbals are much more versatile, but that costs money. If and when you do decide to upgrade, trade one and keep one as a handy spare or accessory crash depending on gig.
Hard to find a cymbal with all good qualities i.e crash, ride and bell, that's why some drummers have two. My 21" A sweet ride comes close (but that's just for my liking).

I'm with Mouse--Unless the money is a real issue--Just keep them both. I looked through all the rule books on drumming that I could find. Nowhere did it say that you couldn't keep a spare cymbal. The rules also state that you do not have to take every cymbal you own to every gig. Just take & use what you like. After some time goes by,--you may decide that you don't care for one of them, thats cool too.

So after having the 2 rides for a bit i'm gonna keep them both. I like the rock ride better & the titanium one makes a nice secondary ride. Thanks for everyone's input & helping me make a decesion.

Re: Help me pick a ride

i tried the sabian site and listened to everyone they had available, picked one i liked , then found it on ebay , i guess you can do that with other cymbals too , sabians are just a personal favorite, rides and high hats are very personal type cymbals,i love my ride, sabian 21 hh raw bell dry ride cymbal, 2nd favorite , 21 hh classic ride,
got a steal on ebay for the raw bell dry ride, cheaper than most people spend on an entry level cymbal new

Rock, titanium rings too much, and bad for the environment too.
