| | | Here is what Vinne Paul of Pantera uses: 14 AA Rock Hi-Hats Gordo Expert, 18 AA Rock Crash, 20 AA Chinese Keruza, 19 Hand Hammered Rock Crash, 19 Hand Hammered Rock Crash, 22 Hand Hammered Power Bell Ride, 20 AA Chinese, 14 AA Rock Hi-Hats, 19 AA Rock Crash.
The Rev of Avenged Sevenfold uses:14"AA Metal-X Hi-Hats, 8" AA Metal-X Splash, 10" AA Metal-X Splash, 18" AA Metal-X Crash, 16" AA Metal-X Crash, 22" AA Metal-X Ride, 18" AA Metal-X China
From what I've seen most of the drummers on that list either use the AA Rock cymbals or the Metal-X cymbals. I looked all of them up for you, but just didn't feel like typing them all. The Metal-X cymbals have a darker sound and have a bigger bell than most other cymbals even on their crashes. I think the all around best bet would be the AA Rock Performance pack. |

| | | Yeh, I was looking at the Metal-X also, but if I'm correct they don't come in a kit? and I'm probably going to have pay a little or a lot more.
I'm also seeing that a lot of bigger crashes are being used, what kind of sound would I get out of a bigger crash cymbal, since the rock performance set only comes with the 16" AA Rock (actually all the sets only come with a 16" Crash) |

I've been looking for the AA Rock Performance Set, and I've found one set out of like 10 music stores...is this set really popular? or not popular enough? :S |

I'm considering this set.I think I'm ready to step away from Zildjian and try something new.I broke 4 Zildjian cymbals last year.Hated.Oh and one MetalX 18" Crash that I got free with a ding. The ding turned into a crack. You know the rest.I'll tell you though, that cymbal looks like the cookie monster took a bite out of it and it still has a decent sound.A bit trashy but a good practice cymbal. |

| | | LoL, the problem with that set is its only crashes and splash....but i already bought a HHX legacy splash, sounds soooo sick :P
But I also need ride and hats, so a set that has em all would be ideal. |

| | | my prefrence if AAX stage, i listen to alot of punk and metal bands and AAX is one of the most comon tryes of cymbals, i did see a HHX suspend once. the rides great for pinging, crashes sound differint then to my personal choices (z custom meduim and AAXplosion), but still sound good, hats relly i profer AAX fusion hats, dont ask but they are still on my top 3 list. |
