So my goal is to find a china that is as close to atonal as possible. What I'm looking for is something that gives the higher decay of a china (relative to a splash) but without any overtones. I just want pure "trash" sound. Anyone know of such an animal?
Have a listen to some Bosphorus and Istanbul Agops at cymbalsonly.com - Mehmets are also a possibility but I think they might be a touch too defined in terms of tone. Agops are nice and trashy, very dark.
