Hi all,
I just got the impression that the general feel is that "B20" bronze is better then "B8".
This is very, very, untrue, it is just different.
Also the alloys are not just B8 or B20, there are subtle additions to create the right properties for a certain cymbal line.
This is never disclosed by the cymbal manufacturers for obvious reasons.
These subtle additions can be silver, nickel, phosfor etc.
One of the best examples is the
Paiste 2002 series.
This cymbal line is one of the BEST if not THE BEST cymbal line ever produced.
And the alloy is: CuSn 8, in laymans term B8.
Bonham was over the moon with them, so are many other famous drummers.
Cheers and Happy drumming,
Harry
