Zildjian ZBT series worth it?

Hey Everyone.

My 16th birthday is coming up and I'm hoping to get some new cymbals for my drum kit. The ones I currently have are absolute rubbish (except for my ride, which I got for Christmas last year). I'm not likely to be able to get anything to costly so I'm trying to stay very low range. I've narrowed my search down to the Zildjian ZBT series, which has multiple starting boxes(good for me as I have little monies), but am wondering if they are worth getting.

I'm looking for Cymbals that will last the distance and still sound pretty okay along the way. If not the Zildjian ZBT series, what would you recommend I get and why?

Thanks in advance.

Zand.

yea, they're good starting cymbals. Friend of mine has use dthem for about 4years now I think, playing shows for bout 1year with em'. If I were getting a pack though for about $200 I'd get meinl MCS pack which comes with a 14in. filter china .

Do you have a local music retailer where you could go and try some out? If you like your ride, I would take that to the music store and try out some other Cymbals with it to see if they mesh with the sound of the ride. Don't over look the possibility of used if your on a budget also.

I've been to my nearest drum store and tried out some cymbals and I did like the sound of the ZBT series, but after readng the review on this website I'm not sure if they will last. I don't have a whole lot of money to be throwing around on products that wont last the distance.

The said review said something about Wuhan (I think) cymbals? Has anyone had any of these cymbals?

Yea, I have a 12in wuhan china. They're good cymbals but not for hard hitter by any stretch.

Right, I wont be going for them then. Many thanks kind sir.

I have also considered the ZXT series, as a slight possibility. Has anyone had any experience with these cymbals?

Thanks for the help so far.

i've been using ZBT's since i started drumming because i've never been able to afford anything else. but i think you should just save your money and buy better cymbals from the get go, just buyin them one at a time. my ZBT's have lasted me the whole time (i play HARD but have never cracked them) but they have always sounded like trash. Now that i'm with my band and playing live i hate using them because they sound so crappy in a live situation.
Honestly, just save your money and buy decent cymbals one at a time. it kinda sucks for a little while but you'll be much happier in the long run.

relly i havnt tryed them but in order to have Zildjian to put them on the market they must have some good sound. I like sabian more(buy local North American thing)and they have some B8 XS20s i like the sound of. so i would say its worth it, if you like the sound.

I have a set of B8s also, I'm not a heavy hitter, but the Sabian's do seem to hold up well. The Hi-hat's are OK, but the ride isn't exactly the sound I want, the crash is also decent. If you like your ride (as you said in your initail post) rather than buying a pack, I would consider buying one at a time, I'm going to upgrade mine that way. First one I'm looking to replace is my ride. I would give the Sabian B-8s a listen, as well as what ever other brands you can find in your price range.
