Meinl Cymbals

Have you heard of/seen these beauties? They're very good sounding and looking, and don't have a multi-million dollar sales tag! I'm considering buying some new cymbals soon, as Zildjian's are getting kind of old.
The MB10's are a great looking package. Buy Meinl Mb10 Rock Cymbal Set online at Musician's Friend
I was also considering some Byzance crashes, maybe the 16" Thin Crash in a brilliant finish. Buy Meinl Byzance Thin Crash Brilliant Cymbal online at Musician's Friend
And also a 10" Dark Splash. Buy Meinl Byzance Dark Splash Cymbal online at Musician's Friend
These are amazing! Have a good time checking them out

Re: Meinl Cymbals

I was o so very close to getting the dark splash..along with a byzance brilliant china...or a aametalx one. 2 drummers I know of and listen to are jason bittner(shadows fall) and chris adler(lamb of god) and both of them afaik still are using meinl I think adleruses most byzance series in his kit.

Re: Meinl Cymbals

I know that the drummer from Silverstein uses Meinl. You can see them in his videos.

Re: Meinl Cymbals

I have a pair of Meinl classic 14" hi hats and i find they have a nice warm sound and good for all purpose playing. IMO best suited for beginner to intermediate level drummers. Have used them at gigs and they perform well but i use them for practicing with as they are medium weight and i like heavier at gigs. Prefer my Sabian AAX stage hats for all gig work as so versatile and great sounding.
I also have a Byzance 10" splash. I played this once in the shop and bought it, it was the perfect splash (FOR ME) and fits in nicely with my othere cymbals Sabian AAX and Zildjian A. Really you have to go into the shops and try them out and read the reviews, but so far i have had no probs with the quality and sound of Meinl cymbals i own.

Re: Meinl Cymbals

I just purchased my first meinl several weeks ago. The MB20 medium/heavy 16" crash. I love it great attack nice sustain and decay. Outstanding sounding cymbal and the finish is awsome. Quality wise it equals anything the big 3 make. This won't be my last meinl.
