Re: Cymbal companies

Hey all...I actually run the Accessory Fetish website mentioned above.

Believe me, I've searched far and wide for cymbal companies, and I feel like I have a pretty definitive list of manufacturers. I'll watch this thread, though, to see if people can find some that I've missed.

Re: Cymbal companies

Nice...I'll add those to the list. Actually, there is another manufacturer that I recently found, but have not added them to the site yet:

East: eastdrums.com

Re: Cymbal companies

here are two outstanding Cymbal companies that were overlooked. The first is Silken Cymbals probably the nicest chinese cymbals on the market. Second is Diril they are a Fairly new turkish company that goes back aways making blanks and cymbals for some western companies before branding there own Cymbals. These are not to be confused with MURAT diril cymbals. THey are a different company. They sell cymbals under the name MURAT. The Dirils I speaK of are made by Ibrahim Diril and are marketed under the Diril Label. Easily some of the nicest turkish cymbals being prodcued today. T

Re: Cymbal companies

It is not difficult to name the most popular brands. The cymbals I use currently are 14 inch Zildjian new beat hi hats. Paiste sound formula 20 inch flat ride, Paiste
signature series fast crash - 14,16&18 inch, but another cymbal I use is a 20 inch Super Zyn medium crash. Super Zyn are made in England. I have owned this particular cymbal since 1967. I also had a Super Zyn 18 inch crash, which I managed to break a large chunk out of and ended up tossing it out. The Super Zyn I still have is rather gong sounding when struck softly, and trashy sounding when struck hard. I did once have a pair of Ludwig Standard cymbals, which were made by Paiste. They held up well, but were replaced by the aforementioned Paistes.

Re: Cymbal companies

I did once have a Kent cymbal........one that I later added rivets to , to make a "sizzler" ride out of, but it was junk, like so many other off brand cymbal makers. Anyone can make a cymbal........but not many can make one that actually sounds good.
