Ziljan Z planet cymbals

iljan cymbals but have been wanting to get some more. I havent had a ton of experiance but when I found the Ziljan Z planet cymbals I had to think that it was too good to be true. If anyone has any advice for me concerning these cymbals it would be greatly appreciated as my local drum store does not carry these cymbals. Hope to hear back.

Re: Ziljan Z planet cymbals

Others may disagree, but, in my experience- having owned a planet z ride as well as crash- they Are to good to be true. I find they have simular quality to the sabian B8's. They have a fairly thin sound- they are neither the strongest sounding or the the strongest built cymbals, maybe, a good starting point for a beginner on a budget.

Maybe your on a budget- but want something a little richer, a little more complex? In the past I have been able to find wuhan cymbals at great price- $45 for a crash- and they sound fantastic!

Deffinately try everything in your price range before buying your cymbals. Just because they say Ziljian doesn't mean they're gonna sound good. Try the wuhan's, sabians, paiste pst5's or lower if you have to, staggs, whatever. Every cymbal sounds different so try everything.

Re: Ziljan Z planet cymbals

The Planet Zs are really low end cymbals from what I've seen they are not much better than the ones that come with beginner kits. If you are looking at Zildian I would save a little more and more up to the ZBTs. If you get the Planet Zs you'll want to upgrade them again soon, and they don't have any resale value. Try the ZBTs, Sabian B-8s, or B-8 Pros. I believe Paste, and wuhan also have some in that price range. I've heard good things about the Wuhan S series but haven't had a chance to play them.
