making a good stack crash

Anyone know how to make a good stack crash? I was going to take a 12" Wuhan China and stack a cheap splash on top of it and use the x hats clamp to hold it together. The quality of the sound isnt my top priority right now. A crappy stack would sound good to me right now lol but I just wanna know if im going the right way to make one. Im just looking for the lowest cost stacker right now. But I also want an x hat that wont break on me or have crappy adjustment

Re: making a good stack crash

it depends on what your looking for. if you want the splash touching the china then i think the way your going is best, but if you don't want them touching and you just want to save room, then ask your local music store to order a 6in. cymbal stacker. (or something to that affect) i would suggest, if you don't already have the splash, to wait on buying and looking into what you want because if it sounds crappy then you'll just end up selling it.
