Cool 15" Paiste Rude Hi-hats?

Hey, I'm a new drummer and am looking for cymbals.. What would be the best kind for me and the best value for my money? I found a top-bottom hi hat 15" rude on ebay the bid is at $114. Any ideas?
Thanks,

Re: 15" Paiste Rude Hi-hats?

well, if you have a music store in your area than i would check them out before you go spending all your money on something you've never even touched. now i prefer 14" standard hh because you can play just about anything on them, but i love the sound of those 14" sabian (B8, i think) rock hh, but i can't bring my self to by them. in all i would try them out at the store before you go onto the internet, and if you don't know what brand to look for i think sabian is pretty good for its price. and for you first hh's i would look in the mid 80's if you could. but if you have the money by all means.

Hi, first, what kind of music do you play, and at what volume?

Your cymbal choices will depend on the style and volume you play at, and obviously the amount of cash in your wallet......

I am an avid Paiste player, broke more Zildjians than I care to mention, but in fairness, I never played Sabian or Meinl, other than with a stick at my local store. I like the 2002 line of Paiste, and since I am not independently wealthy, or playing as seriously as I did 20 years ago, I LOVE the Alpha series.

Size-wise, if your looking to play rock, go with Alpha or 2002, or 802 if you can find them. They all use the same alloys. 14" sound edge are great, and 16" and up for crashes, 20 and up for a ride.

The Rude line is very loud, and I'm not sure about cost, but it isn't in the "less expensive line". Good luck and keep poundin'.
