Hi Tainojim,
I have some facts, which to my best knowledge are reliable.
Brass is found nowere in the world.
Copper is, and Zinc is, together they make brass.
The mix is a lot of copper and a little bit of zinc, depends on what kind of brass you want.(the more zinc the more brittle)

The zinc is a really low grade metal, that's why brass cymbals are not the nicest.
Copper and tin make bronze, this is where the majority of good cymbals are made from. There are various known mixes that give different properties to the cymbals.
Again the copper is always in the majority.
The highest percentage of tin that I am aware off is 20% (known as B20)
I know from (inside) informants that sometimes tiny amounts of silver, magnesium and phosfor are added to the mix (named alloy) to get the desired

properties.
Sabians and Zildjans are made in America.
Paiste's are made in Zwitserland and Germany.
Ufip's are made in Italy.
The whole bronze story is very intriguing, and very interesting reading about.
The first cymbals/gongs ever produced were Chinese.
Cheers and happy drumming,
Harry
