Hey my friend really like this cymbal, but he's a Zildjian person so before he buys a Sabian one, he wants to know if theres a Zildjian cymbal that sounds alike to the Stage Crashes. I have a 16'' and I suggested the Z Custom, or Z3 line as their louder and project more. What do you guys think?
We went down to the music store and tried some, and the A's and K's werent good, but there was no Z's there.
Now, I am not going to try and tell you that there is something similar to the AAX Stage Crash. I myself have a Sabian 16" AAX Explosion crash and love it! But I also play with an Zildjian 18" A custom crash which I also find very intriguing. My advice to your friend is screw the brands and play what sounds good to you. If you do that, you will never regret any of your drum purchases!
phillywillis is right. No two cymbals sound alike. Same brand and size, are still going to sound different. If that store hasn't got what you need, go to another that has a huge selection.
