Xs20's

Hey guys, just wonderin...
I plan on getting Sabian's Xs20 cymbals
(Xs20 Medium thin crash 16'' and 18'' and maybe the 14'' hats)
and I just need to know your opinions on those.
I'm trying to get the most info on them before buying.
I like the sound, just need to know if they are reliable.
Thanks in advance. I.E.

Re: Xs20's

Are they reliable Gus?
I was looking at the Sabian AA metal X crash too and that looked pretty cool.
but my budget is pretty tight right now.
Is there any cymbal lines after Xs20 and before AA and AAX?
I found a Sabian Xs20 rock crash that is thicker and got better reveiws.
What do you think of that one?

Re: Xs20's

What kind of sound are you looking for? The XS and AAX are a modern type sound and the AA is a vintage sound so they are quite a ways apart on sound.

I would not go as far a saying the XS line is professional quality, but they are certainly good quality cymbals. They are leaps and bounds better that the B8's you are playing now.

I use a AA metal X 18" I love its sound. If I had enough money to throw around, and buy MORE cymbals I would buy XS. Until now I thought "pro cymbals were professional".

Remember sound and warrantee!

Are you reffering to my opinion that the XS20's are not professional quality?

Alright guys...
I'm very deciduous and changed over to...
Paiste Alpha medium crashes.
They look awesome.
Hand hammered/lathed!
They have the perfect sound and are very
thick and sturdy. What do you think of those?
I'm sorry, but more and more research and getting "in" to the cymbals
threw me at the Alphas.

Re: Xs20's

Have you had a chance to play these yet and compare the sounds? If you have a large drum retail outlet nearby it might be worth your while to go and actually try them out. The XS are an intermediate level cymbal, Some where between the B8 and Zildian A and Sabian AA, The Paiste Alpha I believe are fairly comparable to the XS, and you may prefer them a little more from a sound standpoint. Either the XS or the Alphas should hold up well, unless you are a really heavy handed hitter.
