I say Xs20.
I think it fits your experience perfectly, and they sound Awesome!
The only problem is the bell. It's tiny.
The Hi-hats are simply amazing and are very strong and versatile.
The medium thins have a dark/deep tone and are very warm sounding.
They are very thick and sturdy cymbals and pack a punch when played.
The ride has an incredible sound too. Very pingy.
The splash has a very sharp sound and cuts very well.
It's sustain is short, allowing for bigger fills and more cymbal action.
The Xs20's are a full line. Including chinas. But thats my opinion. Get what you think is best. Remember, whatever sounds better to you, will be the better choice.
Cheers, and happy drumming!

Mr. Denamios, why not try before you buy at your local drum shop ? When it comes to cymbals the best advice, as I've given everyone else, is to let your ears do the decision making for you.

If there isn't a drum shop near you, then read some information and reviews on them.

Mr. Infero does good research and I trust his judgment. But I know that your ears will be the best judge in that final decision.
Let us know what you get and please post your opinions on them and why you chose them.

Good Luck on your quest and happy drumming.

Re: Need help choosing cymbal packs!!

AAX pack would be the suggestions. I've cut hundreds of AAX sabians, and they have retained 80% of their sound. Whereas Xs20 damaged cymbals are barely salvageable.
Some things to consider:
1) Do you need all those cymbals? Remeber the more cymbals the more stands or boom arms are required to support these cymbals, which is more money.
2) AAX cymbals are a higher quality cymbal, and they can also be used in recording sessions.
3) The AAX pack will continue on into your professional career, and it will be hard for you to get rid of them once u get use to their sound.
4) Xs20's (medium-thin) have a lower mechanical strength, they tend to break easier.
5) AAX cymbals have a greater re-sale value.
6) AAX sabians are certainly comparable to the A-Customs bright and cutting.
7) Xs20's are comparable to the ZXT's

Easy choice - AAX Sabians.

I play the AAX plosions and they are bright modern cymbals with great response. I would take them over the XS20 any day of the week.

I agree with Der. I have an AAX crash, splash, and ride. They are a better quality choice and sound great!

I also say AAX's. I've played them at guitar center and they sound AMAZING!!! The Xs20's arn't bad but cymbals are an investment and the AAX cymbals seem like a better investment to me. Plus they're very shiny But always test them out yourself before you buy you never know you might like the Xs20's better

Re: Need help choosing cymbal packs!!

i just bought some xs20 cymbals. i got medium thin 14" hats, 16"crash, and 20" ride. i havent used the ride yet (i dont have a stand for it ), but the hats are nice and the crash is great. got them for $350 on ebay new. anyway, i love them. in comparison to the AAX cymbals, i think the xs20's are a better deal for the money. i also have an AAX 18" dark crash, and its amazing, but AAX is expensive! either way, both kinds of cymbals are great, but it depends on how much quality you want in your cymbals. let your ears decide, but either choice will be a great one.

The XS ride is crash able, also XS is higher quality then ZXT, more like ZBT
