dream cymbal set-up

What would be your dream cymbal set-up? Mine would probably include a K constantinople ride, A custom crashes, New Beat hi-hats, and oriental china trash, Avedis medium rides sound really good too. So what would you guys have?

This is a perfect thread for me - I'm a cymbal nut!

Hmm......

I'd really love to go mad with a kitful of Zildjian K Customs, 16, 17, 18 crashes, 20 ride and 13 hats, plus probably 18+20 china. That would be fun.

A whole bunch of the OLD Sabian Hand-Hammered series would sound awesome, I had a 17" thin crash that just sang every time it was hit.

I think these days I'm working towards a setup of Istanbul Agops, maybe a Tony Williams Signature Ride and some Trad Dark crashes, mixed with some Sultan hats perhaps.....

I'm really itching to play some Paiste - I'm a big fan of Danny Carey and his cymbals sound great, but here in Bristol there's nowhere to try them out so it's a bit of a risk financially. Any recommendations?

Those are all great choices. The sabian hand hammered do sound really good. Im also a K fan myself. About the paistes, I think on their website they have sound files of all the cymbals, but im not sure. Oh and I thought your dream set-up would look something like this....

if I could have my dream set up I guess it would have at least 3 rides.
like a zildjian Z custom for loudness, and A ping and something that has kinda trashy tone to it.

2 sets of hi-hats like Zcustoms and maby a pair of A's or K's.
3 18" Z cust projection crashes
2 18" Z cust medium crash
2 16" Z cust medium crash
1 18" China boy high
1 16" china trash
6 splashes of diffrent makes and sizes

Im sure I can think of more but right now I cant

Not trying to change the subject or anything but I didn't feel that I should start a new thred. Has anyone ever experienced a sabian prototype cymbal I got a 14" crash at the sabian vault tour and I like it a lot.

No, though I'd love to try some out. There are a few interesting ranges out at the moment that I'd like to get my sticks on - Sabian Vault, Legacy, Artisan etc. and the new Zildjian K Custom Hybrids.

(Don't be afraid to start a new thread, by the way, the more we've got to talk about the merrier!)

Davenhurst, The K custom hybrids sound sooo good. I got to play some at the Zildjian vaut tour (among other prototypes) and they just have an amazing sound.

Those pics are rediculous. I like to keep it simple, a 20" ride, a 18" and 16" crashes and a 12" splash, all A customs.
