Ride Cymbals

Hey guys,

I am looking to get a nice crashable ride with a nice bell. I am considering the following...

- Zildjian 21 Inch A Sweet Ride
- Zildjian 20 Inch A Crash Ride
- Zildjian 20 Inch K Crash Ride

I play mostly rock and pop, and our band play covers. I like Blink 182 and music like that, but which ride is the best for the applications that I want it for?

Travis Barker uses a Zildjian 20" K crash/ride. Here is a pic of his set with a description of each componant:

Re: Ride Cymbals

i have both the sweet ride (brilliant) and the k crash ride, and personally i think the sweet ride is better

once broken in, both sound almost the same in terms of volume, but i think the sweet ride is a bit more pingy, and versatile then the crash ride - also the sweet rides bell is way stronger then the k crash ride, i use my sweet ride as my main ride, and my crash ride and my secondary crash, if i were you i would go for the sweet ride, but if you do go for the sweet ride, try both trad, and brilliant it's kind of a difference between the two. plus my sweet ride was cheaper then my k crash ride but i like them both

on a side note, every time i watch a drum cover and some has the sweet ride, they use that to ride a crash

oh and also, i cover hard rock, rock, pop rock, punk, and some metal and the sweet ride doesnt let me down

i prefer the sabian B8 crash ride it has a beastly bell, an amazing ride, an amazing crash, and fairly cheap.

Re: Ride Cymbals

Zildjian is also having the sale where you get $2 back for every inch of cymbal you buy.
This is only for the K customs though.
So if you get the crash/ride,
You'll get $40 back.
Sounds like a nice deal. But try before you buy.
Good Luck man!
(Go to guitar Centers website for more info on that sale.)
