ZBT Pro Pack or Meinl MCS Cymbals

So I need a little advice. I will be getting my xmas bonus next week (woohoo!) and I think I will treat myself to a long awaited upgrade.

The choices at the moment are either;

Zildjian ZBT Pro Cymbal Pack EXTRA 18 CRASH - £209

* 14" ZBT Hi-Hats
* 16" ZBT Crash
* 20" ZBT Ride
* EXTRA 18" CRASH

OR

Meinl MCS ready matched CYMBAL SET-UP contains - £219:
14" Medium Hihat
16" Medium Crash
20" Medium Ride.
Includes free 10" Classics Splash

I already have a 10" Classics splash so the free one that comes with the MCS pack would probably end up on ebay, but as I really like the sound I am tempted to stick with Meinl. So any advice would be appreciated

If you like the way Meinls sound already, then thats where I would start. Definately go somewhere to hit them in person and let your ears be the judge.

If you order online without listening to them in person first, you may end up with a box of cymbals you don't like.

I would go with the ZBT not because it has the extra crash it's mainly because I personally think it's generally better. I had the MCS and the only one I find were good was the ride, clear nice tone, not crashable though... I really like the ZBT series though go try at the music store, and check which ever - even though i stuck with all Zildjian's, you should still try different companies... or even better pick whichever you want from both boxes if possible if your music store has them

good luck

Extra 18" Crash

All for £219. Merry Christmas to me !
