Question Which cymbals????

I am a Metalcore,Hardcore,and Grindcore drummer

I really need help on cymbals.

I really need a good china for breakdowns, and some trashy crashes. Could anyone steer me in the direction of some good stuff i could buy?

Thank you.

Re: Which cymbals????

if you play harder, try either the sabian apx, zildjian z3/ z custom, meinl mb 8/10/20, or paiste rudes or alpha's those cymbals were designed for heavier music and to take a beating

not to be baised but oriental china trashes by zildjian are really good... but if you want a cheap trashy china go for either wuhan chinas, or stagg chinas

Re: Which cymbals????

Use sabian xs20's for good quality cymbals and low price tag, but get AAX for a better sound.

Paiste Alphas where created for heavy-hitting.
Go to a local music store and see what sounds the best to your ear.
It's your cymbal, try whats best for you.
Good Luck, and Happy Drumming!

Re: Which cymbals????

As far as China's Go WUHAN baby. Get at least an 18" at minumum. Maybe even a 19" they're much heavier than Wuhan's smaller China's. Best part if you do demolish it your not our all that much. Maybe $50-$60 bucks or so. I would definitly start with a Wuhan and see how well it holds up, before you plunk down some hard earn coin on a higher end and much more expensive china from the BIG3. Besides Wuhan's are dark trashy and just F'n nasty. I love'm T

Re: Which cymbals????

I have an AAX 18" that is sometimes loaned around time, and a 22" Oriental that is currently being loaned after two drummers used it at a concert.

Wuhan check out the 22" a friend of mine (drummer of Angels beneath Me) A hard hitter had one when I last saw him and hadn't broke it then. For about $100 even I recommend it

Paiste alphas are primarily designed for hard rock, but they do diversify a fair bit.

I own an alpha 18" china wich has sounded great for the last 13 years. I've had many a sound guy comment on it. If you go to either of my myspaces below you can hear it in action.

If you're looking for a good, trashy accent cymbal, I highly recommend the Sabian AA 18" Rocktagon. That thing sounds like a punch in the face every time you hit it.

Sound sample here: SABIAN Cymbals - AA Rocktagon Crash 18"

Re: Which cymbals????

I would say Zildjian A customs, they have great rides and china's.

Crashes i would think Paiste Alphas or Sabian AAXplosion. They're very trashy and my personal favourites, but its up to you.

Good luck choosing : ).
