Re: Secret Formula For Cymbal Making Re-discovered My god that was a read and a half.
Ok, here we go.
The first cymbals i heard ever in my life on a real actual drum kit, were Sabian B8's. And me being completely unknowing of the drum world at that point, liked them because they were bright, loud and trashy.
2 Years later, i am now waiting for some Paiste cymbals.
Why?
Because i opened my mind to other cymbal brands and found something more. I went from Sabian to Zildjian, from Stagg to Paiste, and then all the lesser well known/used brands, because i wanted to expand my knowledge, i wanted to hear all the different tonalities of the cymbals.
Nowadays my preference is this:
1. Paiste
2. Zildjian
3. Stagg
4. Meinl
5. Sabian
6. Istanbul
Notice i've even put stagg above sabian. sure they're cheap, but they even have a unique process for making their cymbals. Opinion is bias at the end of the day, but i think what Drum Master 1 said is vastly BS.
There's my "opinion." Hopefully we can have a friendly, argumentless discussion.
Credit to the mods for cutting him down a notch. |

I can only speak for myself. I go online on a daily bases at least three to four times daily and clean up the mess for hours at a time.
Want to do more? Contact DSC directly, it's your privilege to do that as a member.
I'm also getting sick with all the spam. Now if more members were to contact DSC directly, maybe they will go with a plan that Der Trommler and I are trying to get implemented to cut spamming drastically.
This is a great forum and it will get corrupted big time if DSC doesn't react soon. |

Re: Secret Formula For Cymbal Making Re-discovered Pearl SVX,
The moderators work hard on spam every day behind the scenes. Der Trommler has suggested a solution to DSC. Admin. We are hoping that DSC Admin accepts the suggested solution. If not, I believe the current situation will continue. I personally have spent scores of hours deleting spam from from the forum. |

Re: Secret Formula For Cymbal Making Re-discovered I contacted DSC a while ago and today received a message outlining the new changes to reduce the spam on the site. I had been convinced that DSC was no longer active on the forums, but I am happy to say I was wrong! The spam was bothering many of us, especially the moderators (who do a great job), but now maybe they will have a much-deserved break and the forums will still be clean.
I am not at all experienced with these kind of measures, but they sounds good. Absolutely better than what we had. |

Re: Secret Formula For Cymbal Making Re-discovered Mr. Butter, I also received some info from DSC explaining the new changes yesterday.
It looks good if their implementation works. Only time will tell how well it will work.
Thanks for the complements about the MOD's but you and some others have been helpful also.
We try harder.
