Re: china cymbal

Upside down will make the china last a lot longer, plus the sound shouldn't be affected too much.

Re: china cymbal

ive always been told that its much easier to crack a china when hitting it bow side down.

i think it sounds better bow side up, plus your sticks dont get messed up as much hitting it this way.

I think you are right, you both said the same thing but in different ways.

Re: china cymbal

That's the biggest problem with Chinas.

We stand right side up while those below the Equator stand right side down.

Re: china cymbal

I've always had mine upside down. I have an 18" Sabian and I ride it more than I crash it. The other way would chew the sticks up too fast I would think.

Re: china cymbal

I would say upside-down as well, the cymbal will kill your sticks if you crash it upside-right. I dont know which causes more damage to the cymbal tho. I also feel like i get a slightly different sound with it upside-down more attack to it i think.

Its your decision but thats my opinion.
