Post A highly personal choice.

It's something i've noticed about this topic than any other. Most of us can agree on which kits sound better than others, and same with hardware. But cymbals are different. Most are highly opinionated (including myself) about particular brands and series within these brands. If I had to guess why, its due to the fact that you can't do a whole lot to change the sound you get out of a cymbal, while you can with drums, and hardware just does it's job. just a thought.

Re: A highly personal choice.

As with cymbals being a personal preference, I feel that drums aren't any different.

Depending on the genre of music, drums also play a huge part in selection.

For example, If it's a Pop music setup kit, it more than likely won't work with Rock or Jazz drumming.

We all seek for that drum kit that will also satisfy the need of a certain sound, just a cymbals play the role.

So drum also play the role within " A Highly Personal Choice".

Then again, that's just me.
