i cant decide on what cymbals to buy. i have my choices of what i like best but cant decide due to wanting more cymbals but wanting a certain sound. here are the choices i had.

1.) 17" sabian vault v-crash
13" zildjian zht mastersound hi hats

2.) 16" saluda mist x rock crash
17" saluda mist x rock crash
13" saluda mist x rock hi hats

both choices add up to be about $370

i will have around $380 for my birthday that is coming up. i want to have a little money left over to buy cymbal felts and sleeves and a wing nut or 2.

i will be playing punk/metalcore/death metal/funk/classic rock. any other suggestions will be appreciated but i must have at least one crash and some hi hats.

I'm not sure I understand. You say you want more cymbals, but you want a certain sound.

Which of your two groups of cymbals gives you that sound?

Might want to go with AA metal-X, AAX Xplotion or A custom crashes, they might be cheaper. I'm Currently asking some saluda artist I helped out in the past to put some words in, sense I know little more then the sounds the produce and what you said.

I say go with some Sabian XS20's. They have a great sound and are relatively cheap. Of course thats because the don't get any hammering, but that doesn't mean they sound bad.

Be sure to listen to them in the store before you buy. It's the only way to know if you like the sound.
