Which ride to use?

I about a week I'll be playing a gig and I need some help deciding which ride I should use.
I have a Zildjian 20" k jazz ride
Zildjian 22" k brilliant finish crash ride
Zildjian 22" A ping ride
and a Zildjian 24" A medium ride.
We will be playing a mixture of music from rock to blues. I'm mainly thinking about using the crash ride, or the ping ride since they have a nice amount of defined ping that is good for the music we're playing.
Tell me which ride you think would be best with the music we're playing and which you would choose to use.

Re: Which ride to use?

I too think the ping ride over any of the others.
This well most certainly suit blues more than anything else, especially a crashride.

The ping will cut through blues nicely, and will definetely stand up the any rock tunes.

Hope this helps.

It hard to decide between the crash ride and ping ride. The crash ride has a lot of ping to it and its more expressive but the ping ride is even more defined. When I first tried out the crash ride before I bought it I was suprised at how defined it was. The drums are also being miked which means I better tune them sometime soon.

Bring 'em all and swap them out during the gig.

If you like that "Ping", you should try the Paiste Stewart Copeland Signature Blue Bell Ride...here's a link where you can hear it:

Paiste Stewart Copeland Signature 22 Blue Bell Ride - QualGon Supply

Just and idea....something tells me that you're Zildjian man all the way. Good luck with your gig :-)

What did you end up doing TamaZ? I bet the 24" ride sounds nice. Which one sounded best at the gig?

Re: Which ride to use?

In my taste I would pick something with a good distinctive ride bell sound, but thats me. But if you need something loud and trash sounding then go for the rock ride/crash.
