First you make a new thread in here where you ask someone to battle. When you have an opponent, the 2 of you can set your terms ie; theme of the battle, what type of recording, length of recording, when the recording is due, etc.

Once this is done, drumsetconnect or myself will set up a new thread for you to post your entries with a poll for others to vote on.

How bout it champ? Gonna get in the ring?

Some of the drum battles don't have the appropriate recording equipment , and even though some may sound great at home, some garage bands can sound more proficiently with the proper mics. That is why some of the emphasis don't come out withing the recordings. Also the recording should be made on a digital recorder instead of just using the mic on the camera. To get into a drum battle, you must be prepared with the right equipment, such as things like boom mics, bass mics and get all of the instruments recorded the right way.

Even use EQ mixers. I had the opportunity to just walk into the Electric Lady studio and give a helping hand back in the late 60's on West Eighth Street.

I've been playing drums for 50 years and my son for almost 5 years. But he's the one with the technical ear. His college major is Entertainment Technology and I have 12 certificates in electronics. Six which are from FORD Motor company and the other six from Heath/Zenith.

My last job, if you've ever been there, was at JFK airport Terminal 4. I was in charge of over 300 FIDS (Flight Information Display Systems)and BIDs (Baggage Information Display Systems) and the Public Address System and had my son assist me during the summer.

Yes T-4 at JFK International Terminal was to be a World class terminal. Unfortunately the last year I was there was when 911 struck the Twin Towers and saw the smoke for about 3 and a half weeks from mile away.

Now if my son or I can enter the drum battle, I promise you that the fidelity will be awesome even if we play like crap.

I think it should be more of a drumming competition than a battle. Beside there are too many batles going on around the world today, so just a little chage in the title would bring more attention to the forum.

Yo inferno sorry man just checked out some of your threads - Thought you where a long time player and a similar style to the lad Skinslapper on here - I'm an old fogie by comparison 37 and into more old school vibe - never tried the double base more rock with jazz style - so no battle I'm playing too long man - over 20 years - don't want to take away your great passion for playing - you need seomone maybe your own age and playing experience - take it easy man and keep on rocken Phil.
