So before I go for it, I want to know, what do you think before I start to set the place and time?

I have the equipment to make my kit sound good and I'm an old man.

Any's B not so young himself and it sounds like he's got the right equipment, according to some of his posts. But I haven't seen any pics of his kit yet.

I would also like to hear your opinions as to whether which it should sound pro studio or bland like one mic. If Yal'll Git Ma Drift, Pardners.

Should it be some old time or not so modern genre like: Jazz, Rock, Free Style, ect... please don't say metal, I hear it everyday.

My son plays with his band here at home all the time.

I know that the majority of the drummers here at the forum are into metal. But please hear me out first.

Us old timers have played double bass through the years, but that 200bpm is like all over the place. I'm not knocking it, and I have played some metal at times with my son from time to time. I want this battle to be a little something for everyone and creative.

This isn't a race, just a show of true talent. I'm still waiting for Sandy B to post the drum kit pics or it's a no go for me.

I agree. Go for something musical. Did you see Peart on the David Letterman show on Thursday? He didn't do anything fancy but it sounded musical. Okay, that's a lot easier when you've got a kit like his which has electronic components and melodic percussion incorporated in it. But I'd like to hear a nice groove that you develop with variations across the toms and cymbals so we actually hear the majesty of the instrument. By all means, have flashes of angry accents (and double bass madness would be awesome in flourishes). But make it hang together with some nice groove. You can do it old-timer!

I missed the Letterman Show, well actually I always do.
But you're absolutly right. I gonna play from the soul. And it doesn't matter if whether other drummers like it or not. This act will be me.

Besides, it's only a little thing to show some talent. Since I've never played for the forum before, I've been going over the rules of engagement.

I did request that Andy B. show me some pics of his kit before the showdown. I'm still anticipating. The with the help of another MOD to setup the Thread. Just to be impartial, sort of peaking.

I'm going to do this for DSC and all the other drumming siblings out there that have been with us giving their support to the forum.
