Post Ludwig Accent 5-Piece Combo Drum Set

Overview
The Ludwig Accent drum set is a starter set that is great for beginners. Ludwig is really a quality drum company that is trustworthy in its products. These drums have wood shells including a matching wood snare drum that have wrapped finishes. It comes with a 22" x 16" bass, 12" x 10" and 13" x 11" toms, 16" x 16" floor tom, and a 6-1/2" x 14" snare. The hardware that the kit usually includes are the LA214FP bass pedal, snare stand, and straight cymbal and hi-hat stands. Cymbals and throne are usually not included.

The Good
Well, you must remember that the Ludwig Accent is a drum set for beginning drummers, and for beginners, this drum kit is great. It comes with many of the standard pieces that can get anyone started in playing the drums. The hardware is decent and will take moderate abuse. With a few tweaks and adjustments, this kit can sound great. This drum set gives you one of the better deals for the money you pay. Beginners, look no further!

The Bad
Well, once again, you must remember that the Ludwig Accent is a beginner drum kit. The hardware is okay for a beginning drummer but if you’re a touring pro, forget about it. The drum heads that this set comes with are absolutely horrible. It’s a good thing that drum heads are relatively cheap. You can make the drums sound ten times better just by slapping on some Evans or Remo drum heads. The drums also do not come with any instructions on how to assemble. However, it’s not such a daunting task and if you run into trouble you can ask here at Drumset Connect or look for an online resource.

The Verdict
For the price, it’ll be difficult to find a better drum set. It may take some drum head upgrades and some fine tuning but these drums can sound very good. The Ludwig Accent drum set is great as a starting set or for intermediate players who want a drum set to just bash on.

List Price - $572.00

ludwig combo set

i have had this set for 2 yrs. i have replaced the bass pedal with a pearl eliminator and the stock heads have been replaced with pinstripes on top and aquarians on the bottoms. the bass has a powerstroke on the batter and a ambassador on the front. the snare i had a tough time tuning so i use my vintage '62 gretsch. overall it is a great set to either begin with or get back into . before i bought this set i hadn't [layed in 35 yrs. put some good heads on and a upgrade here and there , you will have a decent set at a low price. the cymbal stands are nice and sturdy. the throne is ok but i bought a nice ludwig with a backrest.

Re: ludwig combo set

You are wasting your money on this product. Your cash is better spent on a higher quality used drumset. When looking for drums forget about brand. Know the wood. Inspect the bearing edges, yes all of them. Inspect the hoops making sure they are round and true. Be confident that the hardware will last for years of tearing up and down. Invest in good heads and learn to tune them well and use as little muffling as possible. You will be satisfied. Retail is pretty much for suckers.
