Thanks for giving it a listen, I appreciate it!
As much as I appreciate good time spent on the practice pad working out stuff or doing the endless work of perfecting the grooves....playing music is really about the art of communication and I've come to this realization lately that to be able to make any kind of living just making people feel good is fragile and increasingly rare! We as drummers often get so caught-up in the need for perfection that it overshadows what you're supposed to be doing to make turn it into something that talks to others.
Granted, on my way to this point, I've noticed things I do now that other people just can't, like singing and playing, or at least being able to disconnect your limbs from the over-bar phrasing your voice is doing, but those are just levels, anybody could get there if they so desire, eh? But this all comes about because my motivation is to communicate with others and to make you feel good.
Thanks God my parents thought the endless snare drum exercises rattling through the house were just so
good for them!
