In my book, you get an "A" for effort. That's quite an involved arrangement
that you guys have tackled. Sure it needs work, but just keep hacking away at
it for while. The old rule is "Play it until you hate it, then play it 200 more times". As far as your drum part is concerned, yes you still need to do a lot of work. Go back to the basics. Create fun ways to play various rudiments ( with single & double strokes) around the set. Check your grip. Make sure it is correct. Do not allow yourself any little excuses for any leeway on your grip. Most of all, and this is the really important part. Remember that you are only 14. Give yourself some room. Room for time and practice, room to develop better and cleaner skills on your instrument, but mostly--room to have fun.
