Actually, to be honest, you're an excellent drummer with good hands & feet. You're so young & talented, you have a bright future ahead. Being you, I would work hard to get a reputed music school or college scolarship.

Continue your excellent work lady and a promising career is waiting for you.

Good luck

Dang girly!! You've some chops. Very nice work indeed.

I noticed you were avoiding the fast triplet on the bass before the 4 count on one of the beats at the end of hourglass. That's a fast double kick with the right and a left thrown in the middle to get that iscolated three-hit. But hey your playing is far more precise than mine and i can't wait to hear what happens when you get behind your own killer metal band.

I'm not a metal fan, but I can see that you've got some great chops. The timing was spot on, everything was very precise. I must comment on the quality of the video was excellent also!! Nothing to critique on my part, You Go Girl!!!

You mean at the 3 minute mark? That sure sounds like more than 3 notes to me. I'd say it's 5 notes -- 4 grace notes leading to the quarter note (starting the run with the right foot and ending on the right foot). That's a nice fast flourish to work up to. Why not play it for now on the floor tom, or is that a metal taboo?

I agree with the positive feedback. I looked at some of your earlier YT postings and I think your technique has improved. In some of them you had one or two fingers off the sticks. Now they all stay in contact with the butt end and help you get your speed. I like how relaxed you are.

Re: Lamb of God drum cover by a female drummer

wow, thanks a lot for watching my vids and most of all, your positive comments, guys. you definitely motivate me to practice more and moreee lol

@skinslapper&slingerland59 : yes, it's actually 5 notes. honestly, i'm just started playing metal and focused on double bass technique for this last one month. i'm still developing to have a steady beat. my playing wasn't stable yet. on my practices, sometimes I can do that 5 notes, sometimes I can't. and in that video take, I think that's when I can't. lol. but i'm still practicing. hopefully i will get better soon

Re: Lamb of God drum cover by a female drummer

I'm only referring to the very fast beats. I'm sure there's only three hits before the snare, but you've obviously heard this track a lot more than I have.

I'm hearing the left foot finishing the triplet on the "3 and" then the right comes down for the quick triplet. (I've been sitting here trying to tap it out on my desk, tomorrow I'll have to practice this beat. Adler rocks!!)
r l= bass s=snare.
1--------2--------3-------4
----------s-----------------s
r l r l r l r l r l r l r l r l rlr

Another great metal track for working out double bass signatures is replica by fear factory. It's got this awsome steady two foot beat throughout the verses, some fast triplet work at the end and some of those killer slide kick paterns as well.

You must be putting in a lot of practice time if you've only been practising double bass for a month.

How do you pronounce your name -- like Phoebe or Debby with an "F"?

Re: Lamb of God drum cover by a female drummer

Hey Feb,
Beleive it or not, I've come across your videos before and was impressed.

I have only the one critique on the Hourglass cover, and it might just be me not hearing a ghostnote, but on the verse (0:26 till change) your ride should be going the same speed as the double bass so that you strike the ride with every bass hit.
Otherwise, cracking cover.

I use the first 3 L.O.G albums as my practice playlist every day. I'll post a video response to your Lamb Of God covers with some of my own (watch out for Hourglass, Blood Of The Scribe and Subtle Arts of Murder and Persuasion on my channel) as soon as I'm able.

Search DrTazzle on youtube to find me.

Keep going girl! It's great to see a female metal drummer, let alone one with so much talent so early on.
