It takes a good drummer to make any drum kit sound good.

Now as we all get older and better it becomes a matter of preference and budget, if budget is not factor, then the sound is what makes a great deal of difference.

I know most will think I'm nuts with this the guy is excellent really excellent but man where is his feel - outside of single stroke, double stroke Or mama dadas I knew them and the paradidle what else is he doing - listen he's better than me at this **** - a lot better no denying it but I want to hear tastier stuff rather than a 5 minute repeat of technique over and over / critisism welcome just my opinion

Hey Mr. Phil,
Your right as far as sometimes even I get stuck within certain riffs as we call them here. I've caught myself in that "rutt" at times and changed rudiments around in combination's to get out of it.

In free style jazz, it's easy to change and switch from one stance to another in a split second. I call it playing with your drums and not playing the drums. I've played stuff like this for my son, and he didn't get it. Till I showed him some real heavy duty jazz like this but with a five count.
