OK I'll try to explain this as simple as possible. While playing the drums, lots of beginner drummers get into the habit of hitting all the drums at the same impact.
This habit is created due to practicing rudiments in order to strengthen both hands equally to get an even sounding rudiment beats.
Tempo is harder to control than rudiments. It involves hitting the drums with feeling not rudimentary. Different Tempo can also be achieved by Striking the drum heads in Different Spots without losing the rudimentary timing.
This in turn creates Dynamics, or Levels of sound instead of continuous sounding beats.
This is what I meant about the difference between a drumming teacher and a drumming coach.
Two separate animals to learn from. One is Tempo and the other is Dynamics.
Applying yourself with your own style in the long run that you create. This is something no one can teach you but yourself by listening to your own recordings. After all, each drummer has it's own style.
Be one with the drum.
