Bo Eder Zoom Q3 test and new Sonors!

Hey everybody -

Just uploaded my first video to YouTube that I did with my newly acquired Zoom Q3 video recorder. The video's not great, but the audio is awesome. I am lovin' these Sonor drums!

AND - here's a link to a new video made today (7/18) - with me actually using sticks and wearing shoes!

Please let me know what you think!

Man Bo that is a gorgeous kit, and it sounds great also. Love the broomstick work!

Thanks Der!

This is my first excursion into mid-level kits and I'm quite diggin' it. I'm finding it ironic that I can make this one sound good in at least three different settings, but when I owned those two DW kits (among others) those always wanted to sound good one way.

I think mystery wood is the way to go for me! Now I gotta experiment with better lighting. Next video will include shoes and sticks!

Re: Bo Eder Zoom Q3 test and new Sonors!

I edited my first post to include a second solo utilizing sticks this time. The audio quality continues to amaze.

I think the video quality is something to live with. Some people are getting really clear videos out of their Q3s, but I haven't yet. I'm assuming it's the way I'm saving it as a compressed movie file. But it also means when I upload a video, it doesn't take HOURS, either. And the whole idea for me, is to get the idea out there for people to see. So, I'm willing to compromise....

I like it a lot. The sound and the playing both sound good. I like the little switch funk to swing. Comming up with this from the top ur head takes practice. One of the things I enjoy most about drumming is the endless possibilities, especially with experienced drummers like yourself. The many ideas and using them with the many drumming styles makes drumming tons of fun!

Thanks for the kind words! I just try to channel my best (insert favorite drummer here) and make everything as seamless as possible.

I'm actually working on more demonstrations with actual songs and my mediocre singing! Thanks again!

Wow, that sounded really awesome!

I have to say my favourite parts were definitely 2:26 to 3:18 and 7:00 to the end.
It was cool when you went from heavier strokes across the set to lighter tom work in the first part, then from 7:00 to the end just jammed a little bit with a small but straight-to-the-point finish(:

Damn good, sir.

Hey Bo,

What kind of broomsticks were you using there?

You get to see me play when I have enough money to get recording equipment and such!

I'm kind of broke from getting stuff for college right now sooooo...

Yeah.
