Re: "Ya' Gotta Try" with brushes!

Well, the only reason I say Vic Firth is because they really emphasize open-closed-open(:

And it sounds like you have a good practice regime.

Thanks and i know. I checked it out anyway. I use Vic Firth Black Nova's. Best stick i ever got. Its a 7A but it has the balance of weight and control like a 5A!

I have it written down. I write everything down, drumming practise regime, fitness/exercise, money, everything

Ha, if you wanna try a new practise routine, try this:

10 mins warm up
1 Hour stick control (30 mins wrists, 30 mins fingers)
30 mins rudiments
30 mins foot technique
1 hours jam/free practise

That's 3 hours and 10 mins of practise a day, and it provides a great balance!

I wonder where Bo is and if he see's any of this.

Excellent! Just keep having a good time, then you'll continue to do it even when you hit a brick wall!

To be honest, I've never gone through Stick Control, and whatever stuff I knew about the rudiments were back in my drum corps days. I've since forgotten the names and how specifically to play them. Probably should get back on that...or not.

Oh yeah, I see every post on this thread.

Well, I'm in marching band on mallets, so my routine is:

15 minutes warm-up scales
5 minutes chromatic scale
30 minutes marching music

I can't play set so foot movement is out :/

HEY BO(: Ha.
