Soren is on a distinguished road

Smile Hello lads

Hello lads,

My name is Soren. I'm 18 years old, living in belgium and.. like (probably) all of u:
addicted to drums and playing of it.

I live in Belgium (that is ****ed up Ö, but that's off the record), wich could explain why my english (written) is not so good.

Let's c what can I tell interresting bout me.. ehm *thinks*..
I'm playing the drums for 6 years(this is the seventh), with 3 years studying at the biggest MusicAcademy in Belgium (SAMWD, Lier). But not only drums, also timpani, xylophone and all that other stuff.. Piano is a second instrument I play :-).

I was active in a few bands: Edge (punk) & Crash Investigation (Coverband).
But now i'm drumming in Falcon Division (alternative/punk/rock) & Occlusion( if u like MUSE, u like this one 2 ;-) ). I also play in a harmony(or otherwise Orchestra), and teach playing drums.

Questions? Just ask :-)

Musical regards from Soren

Re: Hello lads

Welcome to the forum, D00d!

I had a foreign exchange student from Germany about two years ago. You talk just like him! Your english is pretty good, though.

Do you finish school at like 15 in Belgium? Or do you just study at an academy if you decide? Where I am, we graduate high school at about 18, but I wouldn't be surprised at all if your school system is better and more efficient, allowing you to finish school earlier.

What kind of set do you play?

Do lots of posting and learn a lot here, there are some great discussions so happy drumming!

Re: Hello lads

Thanks a lot Butter :-)

Well actually, here in belgium you may not finish school when u didn't reached the age of 18. U must be 18 to decide what u gonna do. But believe me, i'm not proud to be a belgian citizen for many different reasons..
But u have different possibillity's for graduate.. U have (what u call) High School, we call it Mid-school ('cause to study a High School u must be minimal 18 years and have done 6 years "mid-school"). then u've got what we call part-time education(= "second-chance-education) wich means u have to go to school for 1 or 2 days a week, the other days you fill with some work related what u are studying :-).

I play with Tama Imperialstar (I'm kinda snobbish), I always liked the sound from Tama, said when i was a little kid i wanted play Tama, and i've bought Tama :-)
(But I respect all the drumsets, drumsets are divine to me).

Thanks for the tip ;-)

Ah that is interesting. I hope to someday live in Europe for a while. Also Canada, Hawaii, and Japan.

I like Tama as well. I almost bought one, a Superstar Hyperdrive, but went for a Mapex Meridian Maple instead.
