Luv drumming
My name is Ed Sanchez and I reside in Las Cruces, NM. I have been drumming for about 46 yrs. I like to play all types of music. I grew up playing all the good music from the mid 60's. Rare Earth, Spiral Starecase, Young Rascals, Cream, etc.
When i first started drumming I was fortunate enough to work, one night only, with a gentleman by the name of Richard Sparks. After the gig he introduced me to his wife and he offered me a job in Las Vegas, NV where he was Orchestra Director at one of the major hotels. He promised my parents I would have a great education and job. I was only about 13 yrs. old and my parents said no. Mr. Sparks was also a writer arranger for Count Basie. A few years after that, I met Bruce Allen, that had been bass player for The Standells on Dirty Water. I also met the producer of "More Today Than Yesterday" for "Spiral Starecase". His name is Sonny Knight and he also resides in Las Cruces, NM. Met him in 1996 and I hope he is still alive. Great Guy! As of late I have been playing the Blues here locally, but I'm hoping for a road job. Thank you for the opportunity to introduce myself and my best to one and all.
