Thanks Shelbs. When I bought this drumset used 14 or 15 years ago it came with an assortment of Sabian
cymbals. As I've replaced cymbals along the way I've always been able to find "my sound" in a Sabian
that was on sale, so I've stuck with them. I will try another (not so popular) brand when I build another drumset and need a set of cymbals. I'm not a brand whore.
Buddy, I guess it is a funny concept; a Biker Bar Band in these neck of the woods plays generally to a crowd of middle aged guys and gals of mixed backgrounds that share motorbikes and Rock and Roll in common. Southern Rock and Blues tend to be the focus. Sometimes it's just a regular night at the bar. A lot of times it's to raise money for a charity or the likes. If you're picturing the Hell's Angels then you're way off base.
Andy B, I employ a "check your ego at the door" policy. If everyone plays with the attitude that they are here to compliment the other musicians then it doesn't sound like everyone is soloing simultaneously. The mature musicians appreciate the policy. Newbs either adapt quickly or don't come back.
Happy Lundi Gras!
