mrfurrydrums new here

Whats up guys im new to the forum, my name is josh, im in the navy and im stationed in norfolk va. iv been playing for around 8 years now. i got my start in middle school like so many others. i played trumpet but i saw how much fun the drummer was having and switched over. i have a tama rockstar 6 piece that i am currently refininishing, taking it down and turning it into a punk club kit. 16'' floortom as a bass, 12x4.5'' 12x6.5'' head toms 13x8'' and 14x10'' floor toms. i know weird sizes but i wanted an odd sounding kit. i play ziljian z custom, a custom, and sabian aax cymbals, not going to get into all those. i have singe headed drums to give me that late 70's early 80s punchy sound, and it seems to work for the punk/ska generas that i enjoy playing, for rock i play a yamaha stage custom 7 piece 10'' 12 ''13'' head toms 14'' 16'' floor toms 22'' bass drum and a 14x6.5 yamaha steel shell snare with 50 strand snare wires. if anyone is interested in drum refinishing, from cutting bearing edges to preping chrome hardware for paint i will post a tread with plenty of pics and step by step instructions.

Hell ya! Please do! And keep it simple because my carpentry skills suck.
