Re: What up?

What's up my funky brother? Glad you reached out. I just got a X7 PDP kit, Black fade with silver sparkle. 6 ply maple shells, I put pinstripes on all the toms, the bass drum has the Aquarian super kick 2, I put a 32 strands on the bottom of the snare with the powerstroke 3. I got a old pair of Sabian hats that I got in 84, when they first came out. A's and K's medium thin crashes, 22 custom ride and a 10 splash. I use Vic Firth extended 5b nylon and DW Hardware. I'm cool with the sound, when they mike it up and gate everything, man oh man, it's time to get FUNKY!!!!! i hope everything is one the 1 with you, looking forward to your reply! Just remember to make it Funky!!!

How about when I was 15 and got to jam with Sly and the Family Stone way back then?

Is that funked up enough? I also play allot of rock jazz, and free style jazz. Got to stay in the groove bro.

Besides, growing up in New York City, ya got to be multi cultural.
Been playing since I was 8 and just turned 60 last month. I got me a ten piece Gretsch with pinstripes all around. Zildjians all together. Vic Firth 7A American Classics.

I also coach the kids in the hood with the drummin.

Keep the faith.

Re: What up?

Alright now! I know that playing with Sly had to be an education on the funk. When I was 15 I sat in with the Captain Sky band. Wonder Worm and Super Sporm. Talk about back in the day! Hey, do you know Jerome Jennings? He's a Vic Firth artist and a real cool cat from your neck of the woods. Check out the Capt Sky's moonchild remix by joey negro on youtube. Let me know what you think, old but jamming!

Re: What up?

Very well orchestrated.

Also there was a song called Moon Child done by King Krimson in the good ol days.

Thanks for the memories my brother.
