Kit info

Whats happenin.

Name is Ira, im 48 have been playing drums for 42 years. I was a rock drummer in the 80s. Going to start playing again with soom rockers from by day. need some input from you guys about the new equipment out there. Played a octoplus vistalite kit and pearl when i was still in bands heavy, what is the quality of Mapex? whats good with Luds and Pearl? It doesent look to me that drum makers are making lower to higher quality drums like they use to. their are tons of defferent plys and woods being used together whats the skinny on sound and quality. Also is the Musiciansfriend.com A good place to by a new kit, it looks pretty reasonable, how are they delivery wise can they be trusted. Need help asap first session with new guys this saturday.

old guy needs help, hook me up quick

Thanks

Ira Smith

first off I love musicans freind and have never had any problems with them for any of my drum stuff I have orderd thru them and if I was you I would just read the reviews on what they have on there and it should give you a good idea of what you are getting.

pearl is still a great barand but there are a lot of diffrent models to chose from now but as far as I know they all have a good sound quality. also mapex is a really good one as well.
I hope this has helped you some.

I really like Pearl's drumsets these days. With the Heat Compression Shell, I think it makes for good tone. I highly recommend pearls. And I've been a user of TAMA for 9 years. Tama's good but I like the sound of pearls better. Once I get a job after I graduate college Im switching over.....
